Introducing Brandy (Upcoming Book: True to Myself by Amanda Griffith)

Hey, My problem is I think I'm an alcoholic. How do I know? I'm really not sure, but I know I've gotten so drunk I've blacked out and said and done things I'm ashamed of. I'm trying to get over my addiction, but I'm scared. My friend Tina just asked me to go to a party. I mean, I can't stay at...

Mrs. Mara Hates Me

Celia’s mom really hates my guts. I’ve been friends with Celia since kindergarten, so when I messed up last year– the only year–you would think her mom could forgive me. I screwed up. But hey! We all make mistakes. Knowing she judges me is really making life hard. Now, I’m changing, and she won’t see me improving. I read this in a magazine: “The parents of teenagers’ friends can have as much effect on teens’ decisions about substance use as …

Hand Sanitizer Gets Teens Drunk

I read online that some teens were drunk off hand sanitizer. Yuck! Though beer tasted horrible my first time, I’m not desperate enough to drink soap. Using salt to separate the cleansers from the alchol to become smashed is a little crazy. They ended up in the emergency room with blood poisoning.  I guess I’m a little like them getting stopped by the cops the other night for drinking and driving. I ran off the road and hit someone’s mailbox. What if it …

Back to School Gossip

Back to school is such crap. Everyone’s trying to outdo everyone with the best outfit. Shopping isn’t even fun because you feel fat or ugly or you can’t find what you need. Where’s the perfect purse, nail polish, socks, jeans? They can’t really be found and if they are found they cost way too much! I saw the cutest jeans at Anthopologie, but they cost $172!!!! Get real! They’re not Buckle. At least Gap’s shirts are great colors and great prices. …

Schumer Calls for FTC to Investigate Alcoholic Energy Drink Marketing

Schumer Calls for FTC to Investigate Alcoholic Energy Drink Marketing Certain brands of alcoholic energy drinks are marketed with the intent of appealing to underage drinkers, charged Sen. How Do You Have Fun at a Party?

I told you awhile back I went to a keg party with Tina. She tricked me into going when we were supposed to be going to the movies. I’ve been to several parties in the last couple years and to a couple concerts. The focus is always drinking and drugs. Why does everyone feel they have to drink or do drugs to have a good time? Now I don’t want to drink, but when the pressure gets turned up, I …
